DESCRIPTION:Goblets—How To Turn\n\nATTENTION! You must be checked-off on 
 the lathes before taking this class.\n\nPreferably\, you will have taken t
 he How To Turn a Wood Bowl class to learn basic hollowing.\n\nTHIS IS A TW
 O-PART CLASS.\nDo take note of the 2 class dates.\n\nTurning endgrain holl
 ow forms from wood\, such as goblets\, involves learning a series of turni
 ng techniques\, including hollowing endgrain\, scraping vs cutting on the 
 bevel\, safe workholding in a chuck\, spindle turning\, and understanding 
 wood grain.\n\nIn the first class\, students will turn the bowl of the gob
 let to learn how to advance through the process—evaluate the wood\, roun
 d the blank\, cut a tenon to mount the spindle in a chuck\, hollow the bow
 l of the goblet and possibly begin shaping the outside of the goblet.\n\nT
 he second class will cover shaping the outside of the goblet (without crea
 ting a funnel)\, shaping the stem and foot of the goblet\, and parting off
  the final vessel\,. Finishing will be discussed in relation to the intend
 ed purpose of the goblet\, and whether a student opts to turn green or kil
 n-dried lumber.\n\nPart One Tuesday\, Dec 10\, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm\nPart Tw
 o Thursday\, Dec 12\, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm\nDo take note of the dates. These
  classes are in the same week!\n\nMaximum four students per class\n\nCost:
  $135. Refunds before 12/7.\n\nThis class is open to Bodgery members inter
 ested in advancing their turning skills as well as the general public.\n\n
 Kids 10 and up ok if they are truly interested in woodturning\, but under 
 13 must be accompanied by an adult.\n\nYou’ll be using the wood lathes\,
  HSS and carbide turning tools. If a student already has turning tools\, p
 lease clear them with me before class—tools must be sharpened before use
 .\n\nClosed toe shoes are required. Long hair must be pulled back. No exce
 ptions.\n\nThe class meets in the “Woodturning” part of the Shop where
  the wood lathes are located. Refunds issued 48 hours in advance. Please a
 rrive on time. Non-members\, please arrive at least 5 minutes before class
 . Our buildlings are locked 24/7 and you’ll need to be let inside.\n\nCo
