SUMMARY:How to Turn a Pen
DESCRIPTION:How to Turn a Pen\n\nYou must be checked off on the lathes befo
 re taking this class!\n\nTurning a pen is a great way to practice spindle 
 turning techniques and create a finished gift for someone special (or for 
 you!). Turning a pen involves following a process to correctly size and as
 semble multiple pieces into a finished item. It also involves a new method
  of workholding called a mandrel in addition to using a chuck. We will als
 o discuss finishing techniques and the process for turning complex project
 s as well as deciphering project kit instructions.\n\nTuesday\, April 8\, 
 6:30pm to 9:30 pm\n$75 ($65 for the class\, $10 for the pen kit)\nRefunds 
 available by April 6.\n\nMaximum three students per class.\nYou’ll be us
 ing the wood lathes and HSS turning tools\n\nThis class is open to anyone 
 who is already checked off on the lathes and is interested in advancing th
 eir turning skills. Kids 10 and up ok\, but under 13 must be accompanied b
 y an adult.\n\nIf a student already has turning tools\, please clear them 
 with me before class—gouges and skews should be sharpened before use.\n\
 nClosed toe shoes are required. Long hair must be pulled back. No exceptio
 ns.\n\nThe class meets in the Woodturning area outside of the Woodshop whe
 re the wood lathes are located.\n\nPlease arrive on time. Non-members\, pl
 ease arrive at least 5 minutes before class. Our buildings are locked 24/7
  and you’ll need to be let inside. Students arriving 15 minutes or more
