DESCRIPTION:How to Turn a Wood Bowl\n\n(Please read carefully before signin
 g up)\n\nYou must be checked-off on the lathes before taking this class! \
 n\nThis class is a prerequisite for future Log to Bowl green wood turning 
 seminars.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nTHIS IS A TWO-PART CLASS.\nThe second class will b
 e held on the same evening next week.\n\nTurning a bowl from a block of wo
 od involves learning a series of turning techniques\, including scraping v
 s cutting on the bevel\, safe workholding in a chuck\, and understanding w
 ood grain.\n\nIn the first class\, students will turn a small bowl from ei
 ther a green log or 8/4 lumber to learn how to advance through the process
 —evaluate the wood\, cut a tenon to mount the bowl in a chuck\, shape th
 e outside\, and start hollowing the inside.\n\nThe second class will cover
  techniques for completing the interior of the bowl as well as techniques 
 to remove the tenon from the foot of the bowl. Finishing will be discussed
  in relation to the intended purpose of the bowl\, and whether a student o
 pts to turn green or kiln-dried lumber.\n\nPart One Thursday\, July 17\, 6

 ied bowl blank).\nRefunds available before July 15.\n\nYou’ll be using t
 he wood lathes and both HSS and carbide turning tools.\n\nThis class is op
 en to woodturners interested in advancing their turning skills. If a stude
 nt already has turning tools\, please clear them with me before class—go
 uges should be sharpened before use.\n\nKids 10 and up ok if they are trul
 y interested in woodturning\, but under 13 must be accompanied by an adult
 .\n\nClosed toe shoes are required. Long hair must be pulled back. No exce
 ptions.\n\nThe class meets in the Woodturning area outside of the Woodshop
  where the wood lathes are located.\n\nNon-members\, please arrive at leas
 t 5 minutes before class. Our buildlings are locked 24/7 and you’ll need
  to be let inside. As this is a 2 day class\, refunds will be available 48
