DESCRIPTION:How to Turn a Wood Bowl\n\n(Please read carefully before signin
 g up)\n\nYou must be checked-off on the lathes before taking this class!\n
 \nTHIS IS A TWO-PART CLASS.\nThe second class will be held on the same eve
 ning next week.\n\nTurning a bowl from a block of wood involves learning a
  series of turning techniques\, including scraping vs cutting on the bevel
 \, safe workholding in a chuck\, and understanding wood grain.\n\nIn the f
 irst class\, students will turn a small bowl from either a green log or 8/
 4 lumber to learn how to advance through the process—evaluate the wood\,
  cut a tenon to mount the bowl in a chuck\, shape the outside\, and start 
 hollowing the inside.\n\nThe second class will cover techniques for comple
 ting the interior of the bowl as well as techniques to remove the tenon fr
 om the foot of the bowl. Finishing will be discussed in relation to the in
 tended purpose of the bowl\, and whether a student opts to turn green or k
 iln-dried lumber.\n\nPart One Thursday\, Jan 8\, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm\nPart

.\nClass Fee: $135.\nRefunds available before Jan 6.\n\nYou’ll be u
 sing the wood lathes and both HSS and carbide turning tools.\n\nThis class
  is open to woodturners interested in advancing their turning skills. If a
  student already has turning tools\, please clear them with me before clas
 s—gouges should be sharpened before use.\n\nKids 10 and up ok if they ar
 e truly interested in woodturning\, but under 13 must be accompanied by an
  adult.\n\nClosed toe shoes are required. Long hair must be pulled back. N
 o exceptions.\n\nThe class meets in the Woodturning area outside of the Wo
 odshop where the wood lathes are located.\n\nNon-members\, please arrive a
 t least 5 minutes before class. Our buildlings are locked 24/7 and you’l
 l need to be let inside. As this is a 2 day class\, refunds will be availa
 ble 48 hours before the first class only. Please arrive on time.\n\nContac
