DESCRIPTION:How to Turn a Wood Bowl (please read carefully before signing u
 p)\n\nATTENTION! You must be checked-off on the lathes before taking this 
 class!\n\nTHIS IS A TWO-PART CLASS.
\nThe second class will be held on t
 he same evening the next week at the same time.\n\nTurning a bowl from a b
 lock of wood involves learning a series of turning techniques\, including 
 cutting on the bevel vs scraping\, safe workholding in a chuck\, and under
 standing wood grain.\n\nIn the first class\, students will turn a small bo
 wl from 8/4 lumber to learn how to advance through the process—evaluate 
 the wood\, cut a tenon to mount the bowl in a chuck\, and shape the outsid
 e.\n\nThe second class will cover techniques for hollowing the interior of
  the bowl as well as techniques to remove the tenon from the foot of the b
 owl. Finishing will be discussed in relation to the intended purpose of th
 e bowl\, and whether a student opts to turn green or kiln-dried lumber.\n\
 nPart One 10/22)\, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm\nPart Two (10/29)\, 6:30 pm to 9:30 
 pm\nMaximum four students per class\n\nCost: $135\n\nYou’ll be using the
  wood lathes and both HSS and carbide turning tools.This class is open to 
 woodturners interested in advancing their turning skills. Kids 10 and up o
 k if they are truly interested in woodturning\, but under 13 must be accom
 panied by an adult.\n\nIf a student already has turning tools\, please cle
 ar them with me before class—gouges should be sharpened before use.\n\nC
 losed toe shoes are required. Long hair must be pulled back. No exceptions
 .
The class meets in the Woodturning area outside of the Woodshop where 
 the wood lathes are located.\n\nNon-members\, please arrive at least 5 min
 utes before class. Our buildlings are locked 24/7 and you’ll need to be 
 let inside.\n\nSince this is a 2 day class\, refunds will be available bef
