DESCRIPTION:How to Turn a Wood Bowl\n\n(Please read carefully before signin
 g up)\n\nYou must be checked-off on the lathes before taking this class!\n
 \nTHIS IS A TWO-PART CLASS.\nThe second class will be held on the same eve
 ning next week.\n\nTurning a bowl from a block of wood involves learning a
  series of turning techniques\, including scraping vs cutting on the bevel
 \, safe workholding in a chuck\, and understanding wood grain.\n\nIn the f
 irst class\, students will turn a small bowl from 8/4 lumber kiln-dried to
  learn how to advance through the process—evaluate the wood\, cut a teno
 n to mount the bowl in a chuck\, shape the outside\, and start hollowing t
 he inside.\n\nThe second class will cover techniques for completing the in
 terior of the bowl as well as techniques to remove the tenon from the foot
  of the bowl. Finishing will be discussed in relation to the intended purp
 ose of the bowl\, and whether a student opts to turn green or kiln-dried l
 umber.\n\nPart One Thursdsay\, March 20\, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm\nPart Two Thu
 rsday\, March 27\, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm\n\n\nMaximum four students per class
 
.\nClass Fee: $135.\nRefunds available before March 18.\n\nYou’ll be 
 using the wood lathes and both HSS and carbide turning tools.\n\nThis clas
 s is open to woodturners interested in advancing their turning skills. If 
 a student already has turning tools\, please clear them with me before cla
 ss—gouges should be sharpened before use.\n\nKids 10 and up ok if they a
 re truly interested in woodturning\, but under 13 must be accompanied by a
 n adult.\n\nClosed toe shoes are required. Long hair must be pulled back. 
 No exceptions.\n\nThe class meets in the Woodturning area outside of the W
 oodshop where the wood lathes are located.\n\nNon-members\, please arrive 
 at least 5 minutes before class. Our buildings are locked 24/7 and you’l
 l need to be let inside. As this is a 2 day class\, refunds will be availa
 ble 48 hours before the first class only. Please arrive on time.\n\nContac
