SUMMARY:How to Turn a Wood Bowl (two day class) *members only*
DESCRIPTION:How to Turn a Wood Bowl (please read carefully before signing u
 p)\n\nYou must be checked-off on the lathes before taking this class!\n\nT
 HIS IS A TWO-PART CLASS. The second class will be held on the same evening
  next week.\n\nTurning a bowl from a block of wood involves learning a ser
 ies of turning techniques\, including scraping vs cutting on the bevel\, s
 afe workholding in a chuck\, and understanding wood grain.\n\nIn the first
  class\, students will turn a small bowl from either a green log or 8/4 lu
 mber to learn how to advance through the process—evaluate the wood\, cut
  a tenon to mount the bowl in a chuck\, shape the outside\, and start holl
 owing the inside.\n\nThe second class will cover techniques for completing
  the interior of the bowl as well as techniques to remove the tenon from t
 he foot of the bowl. Finishing will be discussed in relation to the intend
 ed purpose of the bowl\, and whether a student opts to turn green or kiln-
 dried lumber.\n\nPart One Wednesday\, December 6\, 6:00 to 9:30 pm\nPart T
 wo Wednesday\, December 13\, 6:00 to 9:30 pm\n\nMaximum three students per
  class
. You’ll be using the wood lathes and both HSS and carbide turn
 ing tools.\n\nThis class is open to Bodgery members interested in advancin
 g their turning skills. Kids 10 and up ok if they are truly interested in 
 woodturning\, but under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.\n\nIf a studen
 t already has turning tools\, please clear them with me before class—gou
 ges should be sharpened before use.\n\nClosed toe shoes are required. Long
  hair must be pulled back. No exceptions.

 turning” part of the Shop where the wood lathes are located.\n\nSince th
 is is a 2 day class\, refunds available till December 1st only. Please arr
