DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Woodturning\n\nThis is an introductory class th
 at will begin with a safety overview and discuss the mechanics of the lath
 es\, work holding\, preparing turning blanks\, wood properties\, turning t
 ools and when to use them\, and a general overview of the process before s
 tudents begin turning. Students will turn a handle for a kitchen tool (sel
 ected from the assortment available at The Bodgery) using both high speed 
 steel and carbide turning tools. Students will be checked off on operating
  all four of the available wood lathes at the end of class.\n\nWednesday\,
  July 31\, 6:30 to 9:30 pm\nClass Fee: $75 ($65 for the class\, $10 for th
 e turning kit)\n\nMaximum four students per class
.\nYou’ll be using t
 he wood lathes\, carbide and HHS tools.\n\nThis class is open to anyone in
 terested in learning to turn as well as Bodgery members who would like to 
 be checked off on operating all four of the wood lathes. Kids 10 and up ok
 \, but under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.\n\nIf a student already h
 as turning tools\, please clear them with me before class. If a student al
 ready has a turning kit\, please also clear it with me before class to mak
 e sure there is an appropriate turning blank on hand. Please note that sha
 rpening high speed steel tools and more complex projects (such as bowls\, 
 goblets and segmented turning) will be covered in future classes.\n\nClose
 d toe shoes are required. Long hair must be pulled back. No exceptions.\nT
 he class meets in the Woodturning area outside of the Woodshop where the w
 ood lathes are located.\n\nRefunds provided only before or on 7/21 only. P
 lease arrive on time. Students arriving 15 minutes or more late will not b
