DESCRIPTION:MORNING Introduction to Woodturning and Lathe Check-Off\n\nThis
  is an introductory class that will begin with a safety overview and discu
 ss the mechanics of the lathes\, workholding\, preparing turning blanks\, 
 wood properties\, turning tools and when to use them\, and a general overv
 iew of the process before students begin turning. Students will turn a han
 dle for a kitchen tool (selected from the assortment available at The Bodg
 ery) using both high speed steel and carbide turning tools. Students will 
 be checked off on operating all five of the available wood lathes at the e
 nd of class.\n\nThursday\, Feb 2\, 9:00 AM to NOON\nClass Fee: $75 ($65 fo
 r the class\, $10 for the turning kit). Refunds available before Jan 25. 
 \n\nMaximum four students per class
.\nYou’ll be using the wood lathes
 \, carbide and HHS tools.\n\nThis class is open to anyone interested in le
 arning to turn as well as Bodgery members who would like to be checked off
  on operating all five of the wood lathes. Kids 10 and up ok\, but under 1
 3 must be accompanied by an adult.\n\nIf a student already has turning too
 ls\, please clear them with me before class. If a student already has a tu
 rning kit\, please also clear it with me before class to make sure there i
 s an appropriate turning blank on hand. Please note that sharpening high s
 peed steel tools and more complex projects (such as bowls\, goblets and se
 gmented turning) will be covered in other classes.\n\nClosed toe shoes are
  required. Long hair must be pulled back. No exceptions.\n\nThe class meet
 s in the Woodturning area outside of the Woodshop where the wood lathes ar
 e located.\n\nPlease arrive on time. Non-members\, please arrive at least 
 5 minutes before class. Our buildings are locked 24/7 and you’ll need to
  be let inside. Students arriving 15 minutes or more late will not be refu
