 igning up)\n\nYou must be checked-off on the lathes before taking this cla
 ss!\n\nThis is an advanced turning project. I highly recommend that you ta
 ke the lidded box or goblet turning class before this one.\n\nTHIS IS A TW
 O-PART CLASS.\nThe second class will be held on the same evening next week
 .\n\nTurning a vase or other hollow form from a block of wood involves lea
 rning additional skills in the series of turning techniques\, specifically
  in undercutting and safely using "swan neck" hollowing carbide tools\, sa
 fe workholding in a chuck\, and understanding understanding supported vs u
 nsupported turning as well as blind cuts.\n\nIn the first class\, students
  will cut tenons\, design and shape the blank\, and drill the initial open
 ing.\n\nIn the second class\, students will use hollowing tools to undercu
 t and hollow the interior of the form. Finishing will be discussed in rela
 tion to the intended purpose of the hollow form\, and potential advanced c
 oncepts such as spheres and multi-axis turning will be discussed based on 
 interest.\n\nPart One Tuesday\, July 22\, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm\nPart Two Thu
 rsday\, July 29\, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm\nMaximum four students per class

 nClass Fee: $135 (includes $5 for a turning blank).\nRefunds available bef
 ore July 20.\n\nYou’ll be using the wood lathes and both HSS and carbide
  turning and hollowing tools.\n\nThis class is open to intermediate woodtu
 rners interested in advancing their turning skills. If a student already h
 as turning tools\, please clear them with me before class—all tools shou
 ld be sharpened before use.\n\nKids 13 and up are ok if they are already t
 urning. This is not a good class for beginners\, especially those under 13
 .\n\nClosed toe shoes are required. Long hair must be pulled back. No exce
 ptions.\n\nThe class meets in the Woodturning area outside of the Woodshop
  where the wood lathes are located.\n\nNon-members\, please arrive at leas
 t 5 minutes before class. Our buildlings are locked 24/7 and you’ll need
  to be let inside. As this is a 2 day class\, refunds will be available 48
