DESCRIPTION:Pen Turning\n\nYou must be checked off on the lathes before tak
 ing this class!\n\nTurning a pen is a great way to practice spindle turnin
 g techniques and create a finished gift for someone special (or for you!).
  Turning a pen involves following a process to correctly size and assemble
  multiple pieces into a finished item. It also involves a new method of wo
 rkholding called a mandrel in addition to using a chuck. We will also disc
 uss finishing techniques and the process for turning complex projects as w
 ell as deciphering project kit instructions.\n\nClass cost: total $75 ($65
  for the class plus $10 for turning kit)\n\nThursday\, Dec 5\, 6:30pm to 9
 :30 pm\n\n$75 ($65 for the class\, $10 for the pen kit)\nMaximum three stu
 dents per class.\nYou’ll be using the wood lathes and HSS turning tools\
 n\nThis class is open to anyone who is already checked off on the lathes a
 nd is interested in advancing their turning skills. Kids 10 and up ok\, bu
 t under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.\n\nIf a student already has tu
 rning tools\, please clear them with me before class—gouges and skews sh
 ould be sharpened before use.\n\nClosed toe shoes are required. Long hair 
 must be pulled back. No exceptions.\nThe class meets in the Woodturning pa
 rt of the Shop where the wood lathes are located.\n\nRefunds if cancelled 
 before 12/03. Please arrive on time. Students arriving 15 minutes or more 
 late may need to reschedule.\n\nNon-member\, please get there at least 5 m
 inutes before class. Our buildlings are locked 24/7 and you'll need to be 
 let inside.\n\nMaximum three students per class
