DESCRIPTION:How to Turn a Wood Bowl\nRequired before Log to Bowl classes\n\
 n(Please read carefully before signing up)\n\nYou must be checked-off on t
 he lathes before taking this class!\n\nTHIS IS A TWO-PART CLASS.\nNEW—th
 e second class will be held on the following evening.\n\nTurning a bowl fr
 om a block of wood involves learning a series of turning techniques\, incl
 uding scraping vs cutting on the bevel\, safe workholding in a chuck\, and
  understanding wood grain.\n\nIn the first class\, students will turn a sm
 all bowl from 8/4 lumber to learn how to advance through the process—eva
 luate the wood\, cut a tenon to mount the bowl in a chuck\, and shape the 
 outside.\n\nThe second class will cover techniques to start hollowing the 
 inside\, completing the interior of the bowl as well as techniques to remo
 ve the tenon from the foot of the bowl. Finishing will be discussed in rel
 ation to the intended purpose of the bowl.\n\nPart One Monday\, May 25\, 6
 :30 pm to 9:30 pm\nPart Two Tuesday\, May 26\, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm\nMaximum
  four students per class

 ay 26.\n\nYou’ll be using the wood lathes and both HSS and carbide turni
 ng tools.\n\nThis class is open to woodturners interested in advancing the
 ir turning skills. If a student already has turning tools\, please clear t
 hem with me before class—gouges should be sharpened before use.\n\nKids 
 10 and up ok if they are truly interested in woodturning\, but under 13 mu
 st be accompanied by an adult.\n\nClosed toe shoes are required. Long hair
  must be pulled back. No exceptions.\n\nThe class meets in the Woodturning
  area outside of the Woodshop where the wood lathes are located.\n\nNon-me
 mbers\, please arrive at least 5 minutes before class. Our buildlings are 
 locked 24/7 and you’ll need to be let inside. As this is a 2 day class\,
  refunds will be available 48 hours before the first class only. Please ar
