SUMMARY:Woodshop Orientation
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the woodshop!  Whether you’re brand new to woodwo
 rking or a seasoned woodworker\, we’re looking forward to having you in 
 the shop.\n\nThis orientation is required to use the machines in the woods
 hop. It is an introduction to get members familiar with the woodshop\, too
 ls\, and policies.  Members who complete the orientation will have access
  to all machines covered in the session.\n\nWe will cover safety and woods
 hop policies (scheduling time in the woodshop\, allowed lumber and lumber 
 storage\, glue-up/assembly area use\, and more).\n\nAfter the policy discu
 ssion and tour of the woodshop\, we will go over the principles of safe ma
 chine operation.  Attendees will be guided through the steps of milling a
  rough board using the jointer\, planer\, and table saw. We will also cove
 r the miter saw\, drill press\, sanding machines (random orbital and stati
 onary sanders)\, and dust collection.\n\nPlease wear appropriate shop atti
 re (no loose/dangling clothing or open-toed shoes\, hair should be tied ba
 ck).  We do have some safety glasses and hearing protection but it’s a 
 good idea to bring your own (you’ll want them in the shop!).
