DESCRIPTION:Woodturning with the Skew\n\nATTENTION! You must be checked-off
  on the lathes before taking this class.\n\nMany woodturners are unfamilia
 r with or are not comfortable using the skew for spindle turning. The skew
  is the original woodturning tool\, and can be extremely efficient once ma
 stered. This class will introduce turners to using the skew to turn spindl
 es safely\, with proper technique. The possibilities are endless once this
  skill is learned!\n\nNOTE: The skew and the spindle roughing gouge are NE
 VER used for turning bowls! Please note that this is not a project-based c
 lass\, and we will be practicing on scrap wood.\n\nFriday\, October 25\, 6
 :30 to 8:30 pm\nCOST: $50\nMaximum four students per class.\n\nThis class 
 is open to Bodgery members interested in advancing their turning skills. K
 ids 10 and up ok if they are truly interested in woodturning\, but under 1
 3 must be accompanied by an adult.\n\nYou’ll be using the wood lathes an
 d HSS skew turning tools. If a student already has turning tools\, please 
 clear them with me before class—skews must be sharpened before use.\n\nC
 losed toe shoes are required. Long hair must be pulled back. No exceptions
 .\nThe class meets in the “Woodturning” part of the Shop where the woo
 d lathes are located.\n\nRefunds before October 20th. Please arrive on tim
 e. Students arriving 15 minutes or more late will not be refunded. Non-mem
 bers\, please arrive at least 5 minutes before class. Our buildlings are l
