DESCRIPTION:\nWoodturning with the Skew\n\nATTENTION: You must be checked-o
 ff on the lathes before taking this class.\n\nMany woodturners are unfamil
 iar with or are not comfortable using the skew for spindle turning. The sk
 ew is the original woodturning tool\, and can be extremely efficient once 
 mastered. This class will introduce turners to using the skew to turn spin
 dles safely\, with proper technique. The possibilities are endless once th
 is skill is learned!\n\nNOTE: The skew and the spindle roughing gouge are 
 NEVER used for turning bowls! Please note that this is not a project-based
  class\, and we will be practicing on scrap wood.\n\nTuesday\, Jan 14\, 6:
 30 to 8:30 pm\nMaximum four students per class.

 ds available before Jan 10.\n\nYou’ll be using the wood lathes and HSS s
 kew turning tools.\n\nThis class is open to Bodgery members interested in 
 advancing their turning skills. Kids 10 and up ok if they are truly intere
 sted in woodturning\, but under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.\n\nIf 
 a student already has turning tools\, please clear them with me before cla
 ss—skews must be sharpened before use.\n\nClosed toe shoes are required.
  Long hair must be pulled back. No exceptions.
The class meets in the 
 “Woodturning” part of the Shop where the wood lathes are located.\n\nI
 f necessary\, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance since class size 
 is limited by the equipment available. Please arrive on time. Students arr
 iving 15 minutes or more late may need to reschedule.\n\nContact: Slack @R
