This is an advanced kumiko class for those who have experience with square kumiko, have taken the Intro to Kumiko class, or are well versed in using woodworking handtools.
The class will focus on the making of a hexagonal lattice and the three-way half lap (mitsikude) joint, and then creating the Goma Gara (Sesame Seed) pattern.
Bring any tools you have – specifically a small block plane, 1/8″ chisel, steel rule and Japanese saw. I will have some tools to share with the class if you don’t have your own. I will also provide the jigs needed.
Minimum of 4 participants and a maximum of 6.
Refund policy: Refunds can be provided up to a week before the class. Positive COVID case? You can withdraw from class and have your place held for the next class.
Vince’s work can be viewed on instagram (@vincewcook) or on his website (vincewcook.com). No age minimum and no woodworking experience necessary.
