Bookbinding 101: INTRODUCTION TO BOOKBINDING
This introductory class will cover the basics of making a simple 3-signature bound book. The students will be shown how to determine the grain of the paper, how to sew signatures, how to assemble signatures into a text block and how to create a board binding using chipboard. The student will also learn what to use as an alternative to a book press.

Safety: should know safe handling of piercing and hand sewing tools

Tool area being used: Big table in Clean room, Electric papercutter.
