Hand Make a Brass Ring with a Cabochon Set Stone

Want to learn how to make jewelry? This is the class for you!
This (2) day class will teach you the basics of making jewelry at the Bodgery: an overview of the area, training on how to use tools, and the knowledge of how to make your own projects in the future! You will go home with a handmade brass ring with a cabochon-cut set stone.
The max class size is (6) people due to limited space in the area, so sign up now to secure your seat!
Fee: $55 per person (all materials included).
Participants should be 18 years or older.
The class will be taught in (2) sessions.
DAY ONE: Thursday September 21st at 6:00PM – 8:30PM
DAY TWO: Thursday September 28th at 6:00PM – 7:30PM
You will learn how to:
DAY ONE (2.5 Hours):
Size a ring to the correct measurements
Pierce and saw a design into metal sheet
Safely use a jeweler’s saw
Solder with a jeweler’s torch
DAY TWO (1.5 Hours):
Set a cabochon cut stone with a wire bezel
Polish your ring to a shine
Area tools you’ll be trained on:
What to wear:
Wear closed-toed shoes, no dangling sleeves or hair, and avoid polyester clothing for fire-safety reasons.
All materials (brass, solder, bezel wire, solder, and consumables like saw blades) will be provided by the class. You will only need to bring yourself!
Day one will be taught by Embry, and day two taught by Sigra. Both are members of the Bodgery and of the Jewelry Crew and are dedicated to the education and maintenance relating to the jewelry space at the Bodgery.
