Woodworking skills class for women, build a splined mitered box
The is an intensive weekend class, not for complete beginners.Intro to woodworking for women Pt 1 a prerequisite for this class. Only 4 participants are accepted since this is an instructor intensive course. You will become more familiar with the most common machines in woodworking–jointer, planer, table saw and jigs, and learn to think more about how to think about solid lumbers, all to build a splined mitred box. The project will address some of primary concerns in wood working (wood movement and how to accommodate it). You will leave with a project to be proud of.
No loose clothing or open toed shoes. Safety glasses required, hearing protection recommended
This class is a red tool checkoff. Class runs 13May from 2-6pm and 14May from 10am-6:30 pm (ish, includes a lunch break)
Cost: $230 (Class fee $180 plus $50 materials)
Payment to be made directly to Martha and are due by 15April, refunds available til 28April.
