In this class students will learn the basics of the jeweler’s saw and become comfortable with sawing x2-3 small shapes from copper or brass, and one large animal silhouette. Students may choose to keep the shapes after class. This class is beginner friendly, no previous metalsmithing experience required.
CLASS GOALS
-Learn the steps to setting up a jeweler’s saw for use
-Learn to use flex shaft for drilling holes in metal
-Become comfortable with the use of the bench pin
-Learn basic maneuvers to cut complex shapes from metal
January 18th, 6-9 pm
$85/person, materials included.
Refund available up until one week before class.
Safety: come with closed toed shoes and long hair tied back. No loose clothing or jewelry. If you have your own safety goggles you prefer please bring them. N95 mask or equivalent ARE REQUIRED and will be provided by the instructor if you do not bring your own.
Ages 18+
Minimum 2 students, maximum 5.
