This 1 hour class will teach you the basics of lock mechanisms and lock picking, known as locksport. During the class you will have a range of picks and locks to play with, all picks must be returned at the end of the class. Lock picking is legal in Wisconsin as long as you don’t show malicious intent, as described below.
The Wisconsin Statutes and Annotations – § 943.12 – Possession of burglarious tools. Whoever has in personal possession any device or instrumentality intended, designed or adapted for use in breaking into any depository designed for the safekeeping of any valuables or into any building or room, with intent to use such device or instrumentality to break into a depository, building or room, and to steal therefrom, is guilty of a Class I felony.
By signing up for this class you agree to the following rules:
1. Do not pick locks that you rely on for your own security. Picking locks can damage them.
2. Do not pick other people’s locks, this is a Class I felony. We do have cameras set up around the Bodgery, don’t even think about it.
6:00-6:15 Brief overview on lock picking theory
6:15-7:00 Demonstration and hands on practice
Cost: $15 per person
You will not be taking any picks home. All proceeds will fund reproductive health resources.
Refunds on class cancellation will be offered until 07/26/2022, after this day no refunds will be allowed.

Interest in a lock pick making class will be gauged. Additionally, interest in more advanced classes such as tubular lock picking, key impressioning, and 3D prints for temporary keys will also be gauged.
Misuse of her tools will not be allowed; you will be asked to leave.
