Create Your Own Metal Art Piece
In this hands-on beginner workshop, you’ll learn how to MIG weld steel scrap while exploring the basics of material prep and creative metalworking. Perfect for first-time welders or anyone looking to experiment with artistic fabrication using reclaimed steel.
What You’ll Learn

Basic metal cutting
Sandblasting fundamentals

Make Something Unique
Bring your own steel scrap or choose from the instructor’s materials.
You’ll cut, grind, weld, and assemble your own scrap-steel art piece with guided support throughout the class.
Safety Requirements
Jeans and a 100% cotton long-sleeve shirt or sweatshirt
Leather work boots (required)
No loose or torn clothing
No polyester or synthetic fabrics
Bring your own PPE (welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses) if desired — PPE is also available at the shop
Important: Welding poses significant risks to people with pacemakers due to electromagnetic interference (EMI), which may cause device malfunction. Please consult your physician before registering.
Cancellation Policy
Full refund if you cancel at least 7 days before the class date.
Cancellations made within 7 days of the class are non-refundable.
If you’re unable to attend within the 7-day window, you may gift or transfer your spot to another Bodgery member if you can find someone to fill your slot.
