How to Sharpen Woodturning Tools
This is a hands-on class to learn how to sharpen high speed steel turning tools. We will sharpen the standard HSS tools used for woodturning on the grinding wheel in the woodturning area.
Tuesday, October 25 6:30 to 8:00 pm
Maximum four students per class.
We will be using the CBN grinding wheel and the OneWay sharpening jig to sharpen the community tools.
This class is open to Bodgery members interested in advancing their skills in woodturning. Kids 10 and up ok, but under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
If a student already has their own turning tools, that is fantastic. Please bring them with you and show them to me before class so you can practice the correct techniques for your tools. Please note we will be sharpening woodturning tools only.
Closed toe shoes are required. Long hair must be pulled back. No exceptions.
The class meets in the “Woodturning” part of the shop where the wood lathes are located.
If necessary, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Please arrive on time (or five minutes early!!) since this is a short class.
